Reiki Treatments
“Reiki” (pronounced “ray-key”), is a Japanese word meaning “Universal Life Energy.” Reiki is an ancient, hands-on healing art that channels energy through the palms of the hands. This vital spiritual energy activates the body’s natural healing processes, detoxifies the body and facilitates the release of physical and emotional blockages, and nurtures a state of deep relaxation and calmness.
Reiki treats all the vital organs, the head, the torso, the back, and the feet. At the beginning of the session, we will identify your specific physical, emotional, or mental concerns which you would like to focus on during your Reiki treatment.
Reiki treatments work in conjunction with conventional medicine and enhance the benefits of psychotherapy, surgery, and prescription medication. It is gentle, non-invasive, and appropriate for all ages and health conditions.

Every session at Awakened Light Reiki follows a consistent, caring structure:
A pre-treatment check-in to understand where you are physically and emotionally
The hands-on treatment — I gently place my hands on the clothed body in a sequence that covers the torso, head, shoulders, back, and feet
A post-treatment debrief to see how you're feeling
A next-day check-in by phone or text
Many clients describe a warm sensation flowing through their body, a deep sense of calm, or falling into a state of meditation. It's common to fall asleep. Wear comfortable clothing, and plan to drink plenty of water afterward.
Most Popular: 2-Hour Hands-On Treatment
The 2-hour session is the recommended starting point for new clients. It provides enough time for a thorough check-in, a full treatment, and deep integration. Plus, it includes either a Dialoguing Treatment or Deep Clearing.
Best for: New clients, complex trauma, or anyone ready to go deep from session one.

Dialoguing Treatment
Best for: Clients carrying deep trauma: physical, emotional, grief, or energetic.
In a Dialoguing session, I connect with your Highest Self and work to release energies that are negatively affecting your life. This technique helps shift the root of trauma and, in my experience, dramatically accelerates the healing process in all future treatments.
Deep Clearing Treatment
Best for: Clients who feel drained, off-balance, or influenced by outside energies.
Clearings release outside energies that have attached to us whether that be from other people, environments, or past experiences that deplete the body's system. This technique also addresses old family or karmic patterns. Many clients experience a profound sense of balance and presence after a clearing.
Distance & Zoom Reiki Treatments
If you’re unable to make it to my home studio in San Francisco, Distance or Zoom treatments are two great alternatives with equal effectiveness as the hands-on sessions. Distance Reiki is sent through time and space and is just as effective as in-person work. My distance clients regularly report powerful, lasting results.
Distance Reiki (Remote — No Video)
Best for: Clients who prefer to receive Reiki without a screen, or who need immediate support.
I focus on a photograph of you and use sacred Reiki symbols to connect energy across distance. You rest in a safe, comfortable space at home while the treatment is sent to you.

Zoom Reiki (Virtual — Video Session)
Best for: Clients who want a full-length session experience with a live, real-time check-in.
Zoom sessions follow the same structure as in-person treatments: check-in, full treatment, debrief. You get comfortable on your couch or in a chair while I guide the session over Zoom.

Home Clearings
Just as our bodies hold energies, so do the spaces we live in. Negative or stagnant energy in a home can affect everyone there physically, emotionally, and/or energetically. A Home Clearing removes those energies and infuses the space with Reiki healing.

Guidance for New Clients
New to Reiki? Here’s what I recommend for you.
Start with a 2-Hour Session
I recommend that new clients select the 2-hour treatment for your first treatment to provide you the necessary time to see where you are at physically and emotionally. I find that longer treatments in general allow clients to relax into their treatment better — which enhances the Reiki experience.
Come for 4 Sessions in Succession
For clients who wish to return for more treatments, I recommend they come in a succession of four treatments over a couple of weeks. This opens your body progressively with each session and jump starts the healing process for future treatments so I get a clearer picture of where to focus next. (See 'Why 4 Treatments?' on the Questions page.)
Then: Weekly, Bi-Weekly, or Monthly
After your initial series, we work out a rhythm that fits your life and your healing goals. Many clients move from weekly to monthly over time as the major patterns begin to shift.

A special note to new clients
Reiki releases impurities from the physical body, mind, and emotions.
Sometimes that clearing can stir up old pain, physical maladies, traumas, or negative energies that have been stored in our bodies and carried over our lifetime.
While this can feel uncomfortable in the moment, it’s temporary—and it’s part of the healing process.
What follows is often a deeper sense of clarity, peace, and lightness. Reiki reveals to us a deeper relationship with who we truly are.
I bring my experience and care to every treatment, but Reiki itself is the true healer—and the client as the receiver, are an essential part of that process. Reiki will only offer what you're ready to receive, and that’s part of what makes Reiki such a deep and powerful practice.
